Foreign Shareholdings are companies established Spain the “principal” aim of which is to hold shares in companies located abroad. Foreign Shareholdings are special purpose vehicles the purpose of which is to implement fiscal optimization strategies within a business group. Said investments often have no direct economic implications as they simply entail the transfer of fixed financial assets.
The investments made by such shareholdings usually consist of the transfer of shares in companies based outside Spain within the same business group.
