Advantageous geographical location

Castilla-La Mancha is an exceptional area for business activity:

  • Superb geographical location in the center of Spain.
  • Strategic area for travel between the north and south of the country.
  • Crossed by the principal hihgways between Portugal and the Mediterranean coast.
  • Near significant strategic business areas, such as Madrid and Valencia.

Transportation infrastructure

Highways, freeways and high-speed train network:

There currently exists a major road network that connects the region with the most important business areas in Spain.

The Spanish high-speed train line (AVE) networks the major cities of the region with Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and other important Spanish cities as well as with other European high speed train lines.

  • 2,790 km. of highways and freeways
  • 1,000 km. of AVE [Spanish High-Speed] train lines

Airports:

Ciudad Real Airport and its connection to Los Llanos Airport in Albacete revolutionize the network of flights and shipments in Spain.

Because of its geographical location, Ciudad Real Airport boasts an easy, quick and comfortable car ride to other important Spanish airports such as Madrid-Barajs or Valencia-Manises.

  • Ciudad Real
  • Los Llanos (Albacete)
  • Important airports such as Madrid-Barajas and Valencia-Manises can be reached in one hour by car.

Ports:

Many freight goods pass through Castile-La Mancha on their way to and from the airports of Valencia, Alicante, Barcelona, Algeciras and Lisbon.

Also available is the dry port of Azuqueca de Henares.

Due to these methods of transportation, the region has become the distribution center for bulk goods coming from the Meseta high plain of southern Spain and for shipments headed to Madrid.
