Health

CIMA´DIGNA Project: it is an emblematic project for the region, with more that 350 researchers and a budget of 200 mill. Euros (in 10 years) for applied medical research. The Project has 15 financial partners who represent important national corporations; each of them is a reference in its sector
It is also a project that is totally integrated with the research in the University of Navarre.

The University Medical Center, which belongs to the University of Navarre, is a European reference point in techniques and medical knowledge. Public hospitals in Navarre, with the highest standards of quality and excellence, are in the highest ranking of Spain´s health system.

Renewable energies

Navarra has been a world reference in renewable energy for the last 15th years. An Eolic energy plan has been implemented by incorporating energy and environmental aspects and is being imitated in other places.

The most important companies, by level of employment, are: Gamesa eolica, Acciona energia; Acciona Solar, M Torres, Ecotecnia and Ingeteam

• Promote and industrial network, that already employs 3,500 people
• Drive the technology developments in the area of hydrogen as an energy vector

Services

The service sector contributes to more than half of the regional employment and of the gross value added. The sector´s gross value added represents 1.4% of the national figure, which is one tenth higher than that of the population.

The top priorities within the service sector are: logistics, transportation, tourism and ITC.

The regional government has launched a strategic plan for the service sector to identify and support the opportunities in the sector for the regional development.

According to reports by the Savings Banks Trust, the growth rate of the private services in Navarre is greater than that of all of the Spanish regions. The annual growth rate for businesses in the service sector reached 11.7% in January of 2006, a figure that is much higher than the national average (8.4%).

Agri-Food

Navarre´s food and agriculture industry has more than 10,000 workers and 1,000 businesses, some of which are important production centers of national and foreign capital.

The objective of the government of Navarre is to diversify the food and agriculture sector through innovation, while always maintaining an extraordinary product quality (vegetables, peppers, asparagus)
Navarre is the Spain´s reference for the production of high-end food products.

The government of Navarre and the National Center for Food Technology and Security (CNTA) have signed a collaboration agreement to create and promote new innovative businesses with strong technology bases in the food and agriculture sector.
