Aircraft

Currently, the aircraft industry in Castile-La Mancha accounts for 3.1% of production and 3.6% of employment in the aeronautic sector in all of Spain. In addition, it assumes 3.2% of the industrial production in the region.

The year 2007 will mark the real takeoff of the aircraft sector with the implementation of Hexcel Fibers´ new facilities, Eurocopter´s new assembly plant in Albacete and the inauguration of the first private airport in the region, Don Quijote Airport, in Ciudad Real.

The new facilities and infrastructures put our region in position as a leader in manufacturing technologies for composite materials and industrial electronics.

In October 2007, Hexcel will create the first plant dedicated to the fabrication of carbon fiber.

Maestranza Aéra has the ability to attend to the current maintenance, engineering and supply needs of the most advanced military aircraft.

Food and agriculture

The food and agriculture products of Castile-La Mancha are characterized by their high quality, which is backed by the fact that many of them come from regional territories that are known for their excellence and distinction.

Today the food and agriculture companies aim for a high level of specialization in the exportation of goods. In Castile-La Mancha leading businesses have successfully introduced themselves in foreign markets by initially directing their products to the European Union before later introducing them in additional countries.

There is a direct relation between the major sectors of exportation in the region and the major sectors of the food industry, such as wines, and meat, dairy and vegetable oil products, among others.

Logistics

New technologies

We are working hard to extend the use of New Technologies to all of the industries of Castile-La Mancha.

We have made it our objective to extend Broadband to all the municipalities of Castile-La Mancha and to make cellular service available region-wide.

We are also making fundamental efforts toward raising awareness about the importance of the New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC) and their usefulness for increasing the competitiveness of our businesses.

To that end, we are developing diverse projects which will serve as important landmarks in the evolution of the TICs in Castile-La Mancha.
