Salary Costs

The national minimum wage is set by the government each year. In 2008, the minimum wage for over-18s is €600 per month or €8.400 per year (which includes 12 monthly payments and two special payments). However, the minimum wage for each occupational category is usually negotiated in a collective labor agreement.

Below there is a table of the average pay in Spain for certain specific jobs to serve as a guide:

    JOB PAY (€)
    General Manager 100,000
    Sales Manager 85,000
    Plant Manager 58,000
    Management Secretary 25,000
    Telemarketing 18,000

Note: salaries for miscellaneous industries at companies with less than €25M in sales, fewer than 151 employees and reflecting the average pay in Madrid, Barcelona and Vizcaya
