Toyota to construct a logistics center for spare parts in Toledo

The company Toyota Motor Europe is to construct its new logistics center for spare parts in 2009. It will have a surface area of 16,800 square meters and will be located in the municipality of Illescas (Toledo).

Urban CM, the construction company developing the industrial estate in question, and the Investment Promotion Agency of the Castilla-La-Mancha Region were in attendance at the signing of the land purchase in Brussels (Belgium).

According to the regional government, the reason for the choice of location for the center is that Toyota was looking for a strategic site in an ideal location from business and logistics points of view, which would enable them to expand the activities of their current center in San Agustín de Guadalix (Madrid).

The Regional Minister for Industry and the Knowledge Economy, José Manuel Díaz, expressed his satisfaction at the installation of the center in the region, since the group is a world leader in its sector, and because the center will run on state-of-the-art technology and is considered “strategic” by the company.

The mayor of Illescas José Manuel Tofiño views Toyota’s decision as “excellent news that demonstrates the ideal location of the business and industrial areas of Illescas, and shows our interest in fostering the setting up of companies here”.
