Solfocus, Californian solar energy solutions design company has won the Best Clean Technologies Investment Award 2007 in Europe, awarded by the “World Investment Conference” (WIC) in La Baule-France.
The prize was collected by Gary Conley, co-founder and Chief Executive of Solfocus. He was accompanied by the Chief Executive of INTERES Invest in Spain, Begoña Cristeto, and by Olivier Poncet, Managing Director of the Investment Attraction Agency of the Castilla-La Mancha region.
The investment made by Solfocus in Puertollano in CPV (Concentrator Photovoltaics) technology is highly technological and provides high added value.
According to Olivier Poncet, Managing Director of the Investment Attraction Agency of the Castilla-La Mancha region “Solfocus is a first class technological partner for our region and its presence in Castilla-La Mancha, through the project in Puertollano, is an essential milestone. The recognition of the WIC 08 in La Baule is important because it highlights a clear example of business competitiveness in the clean energy sector to an international audience at the conference and tells the success story of a North American company in Castilla-La Mancha. “
The WIC is held every year in the small city of La Baule in western France. It brings together more than 900 high-level international executives and European economic development decision makers.
