Spain will be second fastest growing country in Europe in 2008 |
||||
On the 21st of March February the EC published its growth forecasts for 2008 in the European Union and the Euro zone, both down 4 tenths of a percentage point, although they expect the economy to rFally at the end of the year because according to Brussels, the United States is not going to enter a recession.
The forecast for Spain down three tenths of a percentage point is therefore for growth of 2.7%. It is one of the least affected countries in the euro zone, only behind Holland, which thanks to revenue from its natural gas reserves has a growth forecast of 2.9%.
Spain however still has unfinished business in the field of inflation, since forecasts are for a rise of almost one percentage point above EU rates, figures only exceeded in forecasts for Poland. | ||||
